The Cobra Unit was formed during World War II by The Boss who was a Commander for the Special Forces unit to tackle the Axis Powers during World War II. The Cobra Unit later then served under Colonel Volgin during Operation Snake Eater and was later destroyed by Naked Snake who was rejected from the group by The Boss during the Virtuous Mission. The Cobra Unit no longer exists, as no living members remain. It is recorded that the Cobra Unit is "officially retired" from military service.
