Identity probes were small needle-like devices used to verify identity. The needle analyzed a sample of skin and body fluids and compared them with an encoded description of the individual. Usually used by delivery companies, if the match was positive, the needle's tip would cause the package to open; however if it was a negative match, the package was destroyed.
