In 1942, RKO created the character Raggedy Duck. The shorts was released as part of the Whistletoons series. The character was similar to Paramount's Raggedy Ann and Universal's Woody Woodpecker. The first 16 shorts from 1942 to 1943 are in black-and-white. The rest are in Technicolor. In 1951, Raggedy Duck won its own series.
