Community Services is a division of the New York City Police Department which engages in community outreach programs. As such, its members often speak other languages, which results in their being called on to act as interpreters for those who cannot understand English. Detective Peter Lyons was assigned to Community Services. He was fluent in sign language, and was once called upon to work with the Major Case Squad due to that ability. (CI: Silencer)
