The Alliance-class Star Destroyer, also known as the Alliance-class Destroyer, and the Galactic Alliance Attack Cruiser was one of the capital ships used by the Galactic Alliance. The Alliance-class was designed and constructed by the Mon Calamari Shipyards. A stock ship was 1,137 meters long, making it one of the largest capital ships capable of atmospheric operations, landing on planets to load and unload troops and vehicles. The basic design included twin command towers; and a hangar bay running down the ship's center, with an opening in the front of the ship.
