It consisted of two unique organizations tracing back to their establishment; the Foot Guards, a line brigade of five line and one artillery regiments. The Household Cavalry, a mechanized brigade, consisted of two vanguard and one line armor regiments. Currently, it consists of approximately 34,000 guardsmen and is one of the smallest corps of the Royal Guard.
