Patrick Scanlan was an actor and writer who contributed the storyline for Rustle of Spring, a second season episode of the Coronation Street spin-off Pardon the Expression upon which Harry Driver and Vince Powell then wrote their script. He also wrote for the 1960s BBC soap The Newcomers and the serial The Flaxton Boys and as an actor appeared in Dixon of Dock Green, Meet The Wife, No Hiding Place, The Power Game, Mrs Thursday and Sergeant Cork, all in the 1950s and 1960s.
