Highway 52 begins in Arras, an area just west of Dawson Creek. It goes south to Tumbler Ridge and a junction with Highway 29. It then goes southeast around Bearhole Lake Provincial Park and Protected Area to a spot just off the north shore of Stony Lake, and then turns northeast. It continues in this direction all the way to Tupper, where it crosses the border into Alberta east, and becomes Alberta Highway 43.
