The Shrieker Colony is a Zerg structure produced from the mutation of a Creep Colony, and used to defend a Zerg base. Resembling a small tower, it acts as a detector, shrieking when enemy units draw near. It is very similar to the Shriekers of the Dark Swarm It is associated with Swarm Clutches. It extends the range of any such biomorph to anywhere within its own detection radius, and through careful positioning can effectively double their attack range in some cases.
