Gantz no Moto is a publication by Hiroya Oku showing his story on how he was influenced by various films, and got into the manga business. In 1986, when he was 19 years old, he went to Tokyo. Since high school he had a dream of joning a video rental shop. He rented his first two films, an AV porn and a regular film, Back to the Future. He said Back to the Future was one that changed his life. The camera angles, the action, the plotline, all of it, inspired him greatly to one day make something like that. "It must've taken a lot of thought to make a fake reality that convincing," he says.
