Teramo is both a province and its capital city, in the Abruzzo region of eastern central Italy. Its 50,000 residents are known as "Teramani". The city was founded over 2,300 years ago. There is a large cathedral dedicated to Saint Berardo located in the center of the city. The main pedestrian street is Corso San Giorgio. One of its picturesque artistic suburbs is called Valle San Giovanni. Other nearby communities include Frondarola and Valle Soprana. (See the Talk page for a message from a resident.)
