Kentucky bourbon is an alcoholic beverage from Earth. It is a straight whiskey that has been distilled from a fermented grain mash, a corn (maize) mixture, and aged in a wooden barrel. The drink originates from the state of Kentucky, USA, on the North American continent, though other varieties of bourbon are distilled in other locations. By the 23rd and 24th centuries, Kentucky bourbon was still a favorite beverage of many humans, and was often stocked in bars across the Alpha Quadrant. (TOS novel: The Entropy Effect)
