The Barman worked at the Weatherfield Arms and was approached by Les Battersby in an effort to find Jez Quigley when he found out that he was responsible for the raid on the Rovers Return Inn on the night of the Street's Millennium party and the hospitalisation of his daughter, Leanne. Knowing full well about the gangster reputation of Quigley and wanting nothing to do with him, the Barman mistook Les for one of his cronies, became abusive and physically ejected him from the pub.
