Golden Crescent shares its name with an area of illicit opium production covering Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. The plant resembles an Opium Poppy, but with blue flowers. In the E3 2015 demo of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, there was a marker called "Golden Crescent" near the LZ where Venom Snake and DD landed.
