For results from the recent event: Shanghai Masters 2009 The Shanghai Masters, also known as the World Snooker Roewe Shanghai Masters for sponsorship purposes, is a professional snooker tournament. It is one of a number of ranking tournaments. The event was introduced in the 2007/08 season and is the second ranking event to be held in China as a result of the growth of the sport in the country. Like the China Open, an extra wildcard round was included before the first round proper, featuring eight promising Chinese players.
