Robert Carlyle Byrd (born November 20, 1917) is the senior Confederate States Senator from North Carolina, the 19th Vice President of the Confederate States of America and the 19th President of the Confederate States of America. Byrd has the distinction of being the only former President to serve as a senator both before and after being elected president. In his early nineties, Byrd is currently the oldest living Confederate President.
