The Bitter Sea lies to the north of Khorvaire seperating the great continent from The Frostfell. It empties into the Eldeen Bay as well as the Karrn Bay and features to channels, The Icewhite Channel between The Demon Wastes and the islands of the northeast and The Icegaunt Channel which cuts between Icewhite Island and The Frostfell itself. A major hazard to seafaring vessels in the Bitter Sea is great icebergs, especially in the warmer months where great chunks of ice break free from the Frostfell and float southward. Thrane attempts to maintain a presence in the Bitter Sea despite its inland location in an effort to keep up with Aundair and Karrnath.
