Kitsu Shinjiko was a shugenja-ko of the Lion Clan, daughter of a Matsu mother. Her interest was piked by the writings of Isawa Hobaru and Otomo Tametsu, and the priestess moved with a pair of yojimbo to Nazo Mori, where she expected to find tracks of the Kitsu race in the ruins alleged to exist within the forest. The trio disappeared and they were never seen again. Soon after, there were reported sightings and attacks of a lioness and two males in the edges of the forest.
