In Xiani, marriage is polygamous with polygamy and very limited polyandry serving as one of the core tenents of Xiani. Marriage may be between principal spouses or ordinary concubines, or a combination of the two, with the latter often practiced by nobles, wealthy citizens, and sometimes priests granted they choose to marry.
