Luke was a rich man who Chas Dingle met at a bar in April 2012 after Charity Sharma decided to find her a man. Later Charity invited Luke back to Chas' pub The Woolpack where Chas and Luke had a drink. The following day, Charity was surprised to learn Chas and Luke didn't spend the night together as she believed they would be perfect together. Luke later turned up at The Woolpack and invited Chas out for dinner. Chas rejected him and stated she wasn't looking for a relationship and Luke worked out that there was someone else is Chas' life. Before he left The Woolpack, Chas's ex-fiancé Carl King told Luke he had had a lucky escape.
