Dona Maria III (English: Mary III) was Queen of Portugal, Africa and the Algarves in both the muggle and wizarding world, Empress of Russia in the wizarding world only as Maria I, and Queen consort of Nicaea. She was a member of the House of Braganza-Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, and the first monarch of the Russian Empire not to be fully part of the House of Romanov. She married King Alexander of Nicaea, and had a daughter with him called Maria Theresa, but would outlive them both. She is the maternal grandmother of Harry Potter.
