The United States Forces – Atlantic, commonly abbreviated to USFOAT, is the official name of one of two military forces fielded by the provisional government of the United States; the other being the United States Forces – Pacific. As its name implies, the Atlantic Forces are active across the Atlantic Ocean region and are mainly tasked with safe-guarding government interests along the East and Gulf Coasts, although ex- and incursions to places as far-flung as Europe and Africa have become the norm rather than the exception in recent years.
