Lightwave Animation is a cartoon studio started up by RKO Holdings in 1928 to exclusively make opening logos for RKO Pictures. As of December 14, 2013, the original camera negatives and inked-and-painted production cels used to make the 1928 and 1931 Radio Pictures opening and closing logos, the 1936 and 1955 RKO Radio Pictures opening and closing logos, the 1959 RKO Teleradio Pictures opening logo, and the 1969, 1975, and 1981 RKO Pictures opening logos are stored in this studio and are kept in really good conditions. Lightwave Animation still uses cels to make these mentioned older logos for usage specifically for some movies, such as period movies.
