WESTCot Originally, the idea was to bring Epcot to the West Coast. Imagineers dubbed the project "WESTCot". In 1991, Disney announced plans to build WESTCot, but Imagineers had to wait to build. Disney had spent a lot of money at the time building the newly-opened Disneyland Paris in 1992. Due to budget cuts, the project was dropped in 1995.
