Liara was taken into the Jedi Order nearly as soon as she was born. She was believed to have Jedi parents, but never had contact with either of them. She found herself being taken care of by the other Jedi. In their training groups, she became friends with Jae Malyk and Ranyk Khorr. Jae and Ranyk were both a couple of years older than her, so she looked up to them like the brothers of the family she never had.
