Nan Desu Kan (NDK) is an anime convention held annually in Denver, Colorado, usually lasting three days near the end of September or early October. The convention's name is a pun that combines the abbreviation "con" (or "kan" as used in Japan), a shortening of "convention", and the Japanese phrase nan desu ka(何ですか), meaning, "what is it?": a phrase often spoken at NDK by new anime fans. The convention has a general format such that one large room is designated as "Main Events", with the convention's largest, most popular attractions, while several other rooms host events such as discussions and panels. Major attractions usually include costume, cosplay, and skit contests as well as Anime music video contests with prizes for all. There is an art room/gallery/auction where artwork is display
