Brant County was formed in 1999 through the amalgamation of municipalities of Brant County. The new fire service merged the following departments: * Brantford Township Fire Department * Burford Area Fire Department * Onondaga Township Fire Department * Paris Fire Department * Scotland Fire Area * South Dumfries Township Fire Department
