"The Battle Hymn of the Republic" is a standard American patriotic song, initially written by Julia Howe, borrowing music from the folk song "John Brown's Body." The piece is prominently used as the score in The Muppet Show pitch reel as Leo describes the program. The score from the chorus was used in the Play-Along Video, Sing-Along, Dance-Along, Do-Along for a song called "The Monkey and the Kangaroo." Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo and Pepe the King Prawn performed an impromptu version of the song in a "Secret Elevator Tape" for Disney Xtreme Digital.
