J'trel was an elderly bluerider at the end of the Second Interval. His dragon Talith was the first known victim of the Dragons' Plague. He had recently lost his lover, a greenrider named K'nad, with whom he'd been together for over twenty Turns. He met Lorana while notifying K'nad's family, and became friends, encouraging her to go to the Weyr. Their friendship only lasted a few months before J'trel and Talith went between and never returned.
