Tano was a male Donican in the 23rd century, and a member of the FreeSpeakers, an organization in opposition to the government of Donico II and their repressive policies. He joined the group shortly after a loved one spoke something unpleasant and was taken away by government Enforcers. (TOS - Constellations short story: "See No Evil")
