Albendazole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic, effective against roundworms, tapeworms, and flukes. It is used for a wide range of diseases caused by parasitic worms including: giardiasis, trichuriasis, filariasis, neurocysticercosis, hydatid disease, enterobiasis, and ascariasis, among others. Milk thistle has been used to treat liver disease, and cancer; however, clinical studies are inconclusive about its efficacy. Milk thistle is prescribed in traditional Chinese medicine to clear heat and relieve toxic material, to soothe the liver and to promote bile flow.
