Once obtained, Spinmetal is stored in a player's inventory. 200 Spinmetal can be stored in a single stack, after which point a new stack is started. Spinmetal is light but strong and used in everything from personal armor to jumpship structural components. Spinmetal rounds are lighter and more compact than normal rounds, allowing for a larger ammo reserve to be carried by players.[citation needed]
