Unlike other hidden villages, Kusagakure has always been named the "Village Hidden in the Grass," even before the founding of Konohakagure. Allegedly, before the old village was destroyed, Kusagakure possessed an ancient weapon dating back to the days of the Sage of the Six Paths, which was so powerful that Kusagakure was seen as a force to be reckoned with in the world at that time.
