Dr. David Hamilton went to Terran medical school and worked in a hospital. He knew he was different and tried to hide and deal with it but it was getting progressively worse to be around in people in pain. A colleague told David about the search for telepaths for Project Telepath on Darkover, saying that he might be about to identify and get help for his condition. On Darkover Dr. Hamilton assisted Dr. Jason Allison in examing and measuring scientifically the volunteers for the project. David Hamilton is described as tall.
