The 2004 Tropicana 400 was a Nextel Cup event held at Chicagoland Speedway on July 11, 2004. On a controversial restart, Tony Stewart shoved Kasey Kahne out of the way and into the wall. With his main competition gone, Stewart led 160 of the 267 laps in route to a three-second victory on Jimmie Johnson. Johnson, the points leader, expanded his lead on Dale Earnhardt, Jr (22nd). Stats
