Zot is a Ferengi religious figure. Ferengi women believed that Zot gave them skin, but not clothing. Some Ferengi, such as Quark and Gimba, would use Zot's name in excitement by saying "by the wonders of Zot," or the shorter "by Zot". (DS9 novels: The Siege, Antimatter)
