The fluted black rod is a ter'angreal that was stolen from the White Tower by Liandrin's Group of Black Sisters. It was used by Jeaine Caide against Nynaeve al'Meara in the Panarch's Palace in Tarabon and later by Asne Zeramene against the Andoran force that made a rescue attempt on the kidnapped Elayne Trakand.
