She appears to be more open-minded than her daughter, as she does not disapprove of her granddaughter having lived with the Heaps, or the fact that they named her 'Jenna'. She is almost representative of a gracious fairy godmother for Jenna, as opposed to Cerys, who appears to be rather disdainful of Jenna's upbringing, making it clear that she hoped it would be the opposite of what it was.[citation needed]
