The Vall is the name given to the empire, and later republic, centered on the bountiful plateau but spanning the lands from the deep forests to the east to the obsidian marsh in the west, the southern peaks and the northern shoals. Although it's boundaries have shifted, and it's influence both waned and waxed, it encompasses near every piece of land or territory within the boundaries of the Verge.
