Allen Applegate is a former NASCAR driver from Kingsport, TN. He competed in ten Nationwide Series events in his career. Applegate's debut came in 1982, when he competed at Hickory. Starting positions for that race are unknown, but Applegate had a respectable event and finished 14th. He also tagged on an 18th place run at Bristol to close out his year. Applegate did not return to the sport for a number of years, finally making his return with a one-off run at Nashville. Starting 26th in the field, Applegate also finished 26th (last) after his engine blew just seventeen laps into the race.
