Born Julie Newmeyer August 16 1933 Meteorically rising from stage to film to becoming one of the foremost sex symbols of 1960s television, Julie Newmar is remembered for a number of iconic small-screen roles; including the amorous villianess Catwoman from Batman, the automaton “Rhoda the Robot” from My Living Doll, and the free-spirited, enigmatic motoryclist Vicki Russell (a recurring role on Route 66). Other notable guest star appearances include The Twilight Zone (memorably playing the devil), The Monkees and Star Trek. While she never surpassed her fame of that decade, she has remained in the public eye with her commercial enterprises, public service work, and established status as a pop culture figure.
