Alaor (or sometimes The Alaor) was an island on the Sea of Fallen Stars. It was under the control of Thay and housed Thayan shipyards until it was wiped out by a huge wave caused by a volcanic eruption. The House of Holy Tides, a temple to Istishia on the southern shore of the island, survived intact, and went on to take power, turning the island into a free state. Mulhorand sought to control the island and regularly blockaded its ports.
