Pottrik Syndrome was a respiratory illness found in many Cardassians. (DS9 episode: "Duet") In 2385, Julian Bashir was supposedly holding a conference at the Bement Center on the use of antigen resequencing in the treatment of Pottrik Syndrome. (ST - The Fall novel: A Ceremony of Losses) The condition was fatal until 2401 at which point a cure was developed and tested. The developments in treatment were announced by the Cardassian Science Ministry on stardate 78441.78. It was seen as a sign of a "return to normalcy" for the Cardassians after the Dominion War.
