The USS Coventry (NCC-1230) was the prototype of the Coventry-class Federation frigate, commissioned on 17 January 2248 (after being laid down by Rapier Dynamics Group at Rio de Janeiro, Earth on 29 July 2245; launched on 6 May 2247).
