Sergeant Thomas "Rutang" McDaniel is a combat medic in an ODA team. In 2002, during a training operation against the Abu Sayyaf, he was one of the only survivors along with then - Master Sergeant Scott Mitchell. In January 2009, his team was killed and he was captured along with two CIA contacts by the Taliban. They were then rescued by Captain Mitchell's Ghost Recon team. Although he had two kids, he fell into a deep depression due to the people around him dying and the abandonment in the Philippines by Taiwanese Captain Fang Zhi.
