The Mindflayer is an enemy in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. They are mildly challenging, being able to hit decently hard with physical attacks as well as inflicting Paralyze and Sap with their Mind Blast. It is advised to defeat them first, though any method will work well against them just about. They will follow a strict pattern of Mind Blast > Drain.
