On March 15, 2009, Motek Productions had its first show with Israeli band Aharit Hayamim. The Jerusalem based band, who is famous for its impromptu performances on the street, performed to a sold out crowd in uptown Toronto. The performance’s purpose was to raise awareness for the then captive soldier Gilad Shalit. On April 20, 2010, Israel’s Independence day, Yom Ha'atzmaut, was celebrated with a live performance from Israeli rock star Berry Sakharof. For Sakharof, it was the first performance in Toronto, after 25 years in the music industry and 30 albums.
