Ingrid and Her Talking Doberman was one of Gus Ferris's myriad of club acts, who doubled up as Bearded Lady. In 1988, the duo dropped out of a spot at the Old Band Club when they came down with distemper, requiring Gus to ask Alec Gilroy for the loan of one of his acts for the gig. To put him further in lumber with club owner Margery Smith, Alec sent him Rovers cellarman Jack Duckworth as singer, knowing he would be terrible.
