For his work on the 1990 comic adaptation Dick Tracy, Caglione won an Academy Award for Best Makeup in 1991 which he shared with Doug Drexler. The team also won a Saturn Award and a BAFTA Film Award for Best Makeup. In 2009 Caglione received another Academy Award nomination in the category Best Achievement in Makeup for his work on the comic adaptation The Dark Knight as well as a Saturn Award nomination for Best Make-Up.
