Yractos was the capital city of the planet Gyndine. Yractos was among the largest of the world's settlements. In 22 BBY, the city was host to a slaving ring scandal. During the Yuuzhan Vong War, Yractos was savaged by a Yuuzhan Vong assault force, which leveled much of its skyline and urban area with yorik coral missiles. The area was sacked by Yuuzhan Vong Warriors and Chazrach soldiers, further destroying Yractos's infrastructure. Following the assault, refugees from various conquered worlds, formerly under Leia Organa Solo's efforts to evacuate them to New Republic space, were coralled into isolation areas and shipped offworld. The city would remain under the Yuuzhan Vong empire's control for the duration of the war.
